An independent practice, since 1988
Precision Acoustics is an audiology practice with clinics in Doncaster East, East Melbourne and Glen Waverley. It answers to its patients, not to a hearing aid company.
No manufacturer behind the desk
The practice is not owned by a hearing aid maker or a chain, so a recommendation is about your hearing and nothing else.
An audiologist at every visit
You are tested, fitted and followed up by a qualified audiologist, not handed between sales staff.
A straight answer either way
If a hearing aid will not help you, we say so. If the ones you have can be fixed, we fix them.
Led by audiologist William (Bill) Olayos
BA (Biology), University of North Carolina. BSc and Postgraduate Diploma of Audiology, University of Melbourne. Fellow of the Australian College of Audiology.
Bill finished his training in 1984 and started work as a paediatric audiologist with the Victorian Health Commission in February 1985. In 1988 he took over an established practice that had been trading as Precision Acoustics since the early 1980s. He has seen the profession change a great deal since, and is as passionate about it now as when he started.
He has many years of experience in assessing noise-induced hearing loss, has fitted a great many hearing aids, and these days spends more and more of his time helping people whose devices were poorly fitted somewhere else.
“The term professional gets used often in this space. When I use it, I mean it, and have the CV to back it up.”Bill Olayos
